Humor in the focus of the profiler
The sense of humor has:
– duration in time (the sophistication of the humorist’s upbringing and intelligence is precisely in the communication);
– beginning and end (a vivid indicator of mental health – because if a joke is repeated inappropriately – it is an indicator of a borderline mental state);
– appropriateness / wit (relevant to professional skills and knowledge, and to social needs);
– the philosophy of thought of the person making the joke (the personal depth of the joke just for the author);
– some inherent action (background secret essence – maybe a hint at something).
Each item above – has its own personal mimicry, its own spiritual component, and a reflection of the culture of the person displaying the humor. But this is the structure of the feeling itself. Mimicry of this process – is recognized systematically and separately on each item resulted below, and has essential sense for the expert-physiognomist – because it’s a subconscious process, so the true reactions of whoever’s in front of us. Thus, the sense of humor an indicator (in general, not only in physiognomy) of some significant things in people’s communication, I suggest to look more closely:
– intellectual flexibility (by class: appropriateness and duration of the joke);
– subconscious desires (if it is some vulgarity – then the person has some wishes in this sphere, or something is not given to him);
– desire to impress (and it also depends on which one!);
– level of education;
– level of culture;
– level of brutality (!).
Not all famous geniuses had a sense of humor. Some tried to get it or learn to make jokes in the mold of the time to which they belonged. So it worked out more with philosophy.
In history, then and now – people have said that, “if a person has a sense of humor – he is able to conquer anyone, even if he is ugly, evil, greedy, etc.”. Humor is a manipulative tool of capture of attention of the opponent, conquest of the opposite sex, demonstration of intellect.
I suggest to consider physiognomic aspect of humor display on a face. Thus, I give the description of zones of a face of the person whom we observe during display of sense of humor of someone near. So, what it is necessary to look at – showing?
Flexibility of intellect – is the system dynamics of the face. Absence of mimic pauses (when the duration of the change of reactions to the process of life is not fixed by the observer “as a pause”, does not cause “a desire to repeat the question” or “push to action”). It is a quick reaction with a frank smile.
The main role in the manifestation of flexibility of intelligence during communication and observation – play the eyes. Even in animals (e.g. cats and dogs), the dynamics of turning the eyes without the participation of the head – indicates a remarkable intelligence.
After a joke, the eyes of the person we are watching should not accelerate in blinking, other actions (changing the angle of gaze, for example) freeze, squint. We have a normal reaction of “sincere smile” of the eyes. If we have a “pause” (from 0.3 sec) and “squint” – we are dealing with the reaction of “offense”. Averting the eyes – speaks about “shamefulness of the topic” for the listener and in parallel “memories from the past”. Looking down – indicates the humiliation of the joke and the realization of one’s vulnerability, but quick recovery of the gaze – intellectual control over the dominance of emotions (strong and strong-willed personality).
When there is a manifestation in relation to subconscious desires – we have in the first seconds of completion of a joke compression of lips and a look down and in any direction, a slight smile, a pause (more than 0.6 sec) and controlled laughter (obviously with suppression of emotion). In a person the system of analysis of desires and their entering from subconscious desires into recognition by the intellectual system works – therefore the above described scheme will come out on the face subconsciously and uncontrollably. Also, a person can turn away and change the topic or the joke itself to replace his speech. But this is already when he is afraid that you have realized the presence of his subconscious desires.
The desire to impress – here we should remember that this is at once a complex. If it is not a theatrical play of a professional actor on stage, then we see just a role that a person “sells” as a defense mechanism in order to maintain his comfortable state (do not touch me!), to distract from the essence of the problem (none of your business!), to mislead (I am not really like this!). There is also a goal “to seem better than what has”, here smiles, long (long) looks in the eyes, phrases on which the person stammered and some words replaced by a smile and hints of subtle humor enter into mimic work.
The “second stage” impression can be made by someone we are watching with the parallel use of hugs, which are very popular nowadays. At the peak of emotion – the person realizes that he or she does not want you to see the true reactions and “hides behind the hug”. So remember – that hugging, is the main distracting move when we are dealing with a person who can not hide emotions, and he is in dire need of it. Draw conclusions.
An indicator of level of education in humor is a slightly skeptical look, which means that the person has an attitude and understanding of what is being said. In parallel, a deep breath of air, then the demonstration of disdain – horizontal diversion of eyes to the right. Such manifestation we have when a person considers humor simple and not his level of education. Therefore, we fix the attitude to people whom he “considers more simple”. The attitude is disdainful.
Another manifestation of the level of education “fudging up”, more inherent in scientists or not bad specialists who are not interested in such antics.
The level of culture is high – it is always restraint. But it can be frank, a person just smiled and that’s it. And there is a “smile with a turn away from the circle in which the joke is joked”, so that others can see that emotions from the “stupidity” of the joke, and not for any other reason – this is a low level of culture. A blatant insult “to the eye” is a lack of culture. And outright disregard is rudeness (an insulting joke with a direct stare and expectation of the emotion of your disappointment, namely pleasure for yourself).
So we slowly moved to the violence level. Anyone who shows aggression during jokes is subconsciously violent. If a person does not take a cruel joke – mimically shows disgust, the nasolabial block is curved. Turns his head away, does not want to listen. If a person smiles openly and enjoys the joke – he is prone to aggression and sadistic manifestations.
