Simply about the complex: Artpersonology — quick self‑balance
A little introduction
My name is Alisa. My professional path combines a multitude of fascinating, useful, yet extremely demanding scientific and practical components, thanks to which I have the ability to analyze facial expressions and micro‑expressions, silhouettes, the peculiarities of thinking and behavior of different people, preferences, deviations and communication risks, inclinations, and along with this to analyze people’s actions and their motives. These highly complex directions are collectively known as profiling (an analysis of a person’s behavioral and mental patterns, studied with fundamental and profound tools). I have been engaged in my favorite work for more than 20 years. And now I propose, on the pages of Family Affairs, in a small column (which may later grow larger), to share interesting and simplified secrets of ancient and profound sciences about human thinking, emotions, and feelings.
Another important system of knowledge is physiognomic expertise (the ability to detect ultra‑fast facial reactions in real time or in video recordings) — the analysis of wrinkles, the shape and dynamics of the eyes, the lines of a smile, the form of the chin. Both profiling and physiognomics are traditionally used in creating psychological portraits of incredible depth. It often seems as if the portrait was written by someone who has known the person for many years. However, I will show you the way to apply this knowledge in everyday life.

And finally, personology — a kind of communicator between profiling and physiognomics, a significant and fascinating field, a science of personal characteristics and the analysis of unique combinations of an individual as a figure. It is mostly an instrument of psychological support. Practical and theoretical personological knowledge is extremely useful in our daily lives, and you will see its effectiveness over time.
Thanks to such a case of directly practical knowledge and skills, it becomes possible to use these abilities both in business and in personal life, or, if necessary, to adjust a particular direction of activity and the worldview of the individual.
What can personological tools quickly offer us today?
Business and family in such difficult conditions are truly a challenging task and a severe trial even for crisis managers with long experience and the most balanced yogis. Yet it is a necessity, and it is not up for discussion. Psychological tension rises to such a level that nervous stress becomes chronic in a shorter period of time than before, and systemic breakdown occurs before we even realize what has happened. This particular state of inner strain, like our wartime situation, cannot simply be removed from the mind until we can fully feel safe.
In each article I will try to share useful information with you and answer your questions regarding both business and family matters (because we, women, understand better than anyone that we must hold the line in all directions). So let’s begin!
Today we will be supported by the field of personology, which offers a whole range of effective tools. The most beautiful of them is the art approach. By the way, this approach can be used independently, without working with a psychologist. Your thinking itself will search for a path and a way out of the situation. Because art is not just beauty — it is the analytics of meanings. What does this mean?
Art is traditionally considered a domain of pleasure, an expression of taste, a lifestyle that adds charm and distracts, drawing us into the meanings embedded by the author (by the way, in all modern films and series, as well as in older ones, the homes and offices of the characters are filled with art pieces — this shows that the core of life is unchanged, energy always fills us and remains constant). Art even emphasizes belonging to the elite for those who are passionate about it and serves as a means of investing money. However, despite all this, art is the most powerful psychological defense mechanism, which brings the psyche not only to a state of normality but also ensures balance in the perception of business directions and personal space and comfort. Therefore, we combine art with personology and obtain a working effect, a comprehensive method in the unbearably frightening present.
The essence of this method lies in perceiving business processes and personal relationships through the prism of the following directions:
— Self‑improvement through analyzing obstacles that have arisen in a given sphere (analyze what exactly you could not cope with and try to do it now, because you are already different, strengthened, starting from the awareness of this moment) — you launch self‑development.
Imagine that you are looking at a painting (or create one in your imagination) and can step into it. Where do you find yourself? With which painting do you associate yourself? What is depicted? Why do you see those particular accent colors? Who is in front of you and how does he harm you? What conclusions have you drawn?
— Breaking down the “crisis” process (in the chosen sphere) by indicating another angle of view on the problem — simplifying the dead‑end state and changing the strategy.
You are troubled by a situation you experience as a problem — place a convenient hero (from the painting) in your place and look at him: is he acting correctly? Where is his mistake? Assemble his behavior like a puzzle — what is missing? Do you see the answers? Analyze your situation.
— Forcing yourself to find compensations (if you spend 5 hours at work, find 2.5 hours for personal life and the rest for sleep), even if you are not used to it and have never done so before — mandatory rest and recovery.
Every day you must rest. The body is not made of rubber; it needs energy and strength. Imagine colors that fill you with power. What do they associate with? Why?
— Redirecting panic attacks into energy accumulation for starting new projects without obstacles and uncertainty (as soon as you feel “uneasy,” think about what else you can do to strengthen your business or improve personal relationships) — preventing stress from surfacing in consciousness or leaking from the subconscious in small, non‑traumatizing steps.
Find your new positive and restorative painting (on the internet, at an exhibition, or draw it yourself) every day! The one that today fills you, motivates you, relaxes you. Look closely. Combine its colors with those that strengthen and energize you. Reflect on why it is this one. Preserve these feelings throughout the day!
In the end: you personally see yourself as a successful person who understands the balance necessary for survival, self‑protection, and safety. This is what art — more precisely, the art of personology — is all about.
Self‑improvement is the path to healthy building of personal and professional relationships. You remember the wisdom — “forewarned is forearmed.” And it is precisely this preparedness that teaches us to try to take into account all the details of maintaining balance between work, family, and ourselves on the way to our victories.
Until next time!
